This Privacy Policy explains how BillStat (“BillStat”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BillStat mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

2. What the Service does
BillStat is intended to help you track receipts in Montenegro: you scan the QR code on a receipt, confirm saving when a receipt is found, and BillStat retrieves receipt details via an official receipt verification service (the “Government Service”) and saves the receipt to your BillStat account.
BillStat is not designed to scan or process POS card slips, payment slips, or other documents that may contain bank card details. BillStat does not intentionally collect payment card numbers, CVV, or PIN.
3. Information we collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account information (Google Sign‑In): when you sign in with Google, we receive information such as your email address, name, and profile photo/avatar (if provided by Google), as well as identifiers needed to authenticate your session.
- Receipt scan information: QR code contents and/or the receipt link embedded in the QR code, and the receipt identifiers derived from it (as needed to query the Government Service).
- Receipt data stored in BillStat: receipt details returned by the Government Service (for example, merchant/tax entity information, date/time, totals, VAT, and line items when available).
- Support communications: if you contact us, we collect the content of your message and the contact information you provide.
- Operational and security data: limited logs (for example, timestamps, IP address, and technical identifiers) to help secure and operate the Service.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide the Service (authenticate you, scan receipts, fetch receipt details, and show receipt history).
- Maintain and improve reliability and security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
5. Government Service (receipt lookup)
When you scan a receipt QR code, BillStat sends receipt identifiers derived from the link in the QR code to the Government Service to retrieve receipt details. The availability and accuracy of receipt data depends on the Government Service.
6. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Google (for authentication via Google Sign‑In).
- Government Service (to retrieve receipt details using identifiers from the link in the QR code).
- Service providers (hosting/infrastructure providers necessary to run the Service).
- Legal and safety (if required by law, or to protect the Service and users).
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Analytics and tracking
We currently do not use third‑party advertising SDKs or analytics tools that track you across apps or websites.
8. Data retention
We retain your account information and stored receipts for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Operational/security logs may be retained for a limited period.
9. Your choices and rights
You may:
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your account data and stored receipts.
- Control device permissions (for example, camera access) via your device settings.
To delete your account and data, open the Profile tab in the app and tap Delete Account. Alternatively, email support@billstat.app. We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to protect information consistent with this Policy.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above indicates when it was last updated.
